1. Platform Status and Operator Identity

CourseMap ("the Platform", "we", "us") is operated by [Your full legal name or entity name], located in New South Wales, Australia. The Platform is an independent student-run information service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of UNSW Global, UNSW Sydney, or any of their affiliated entities.

2. Nature of the Platform

CourseMap operates as an intermediary platform for user-generated content. We do not create, verify, endorse, or adopt as our own the reviews, ratings, or other content submitted by users. The Platform is a passive conduit for information between users.

This distinction is material under Australian law. CourseMap's role is analogous to that of an intermediary under common law principles, and we do not exercise editorial control over user-submitted content beyond the moderation described in our Site Guidelines.

3. User Responsibilities

By submitting content to CourseMap, you:

(a) Warrant that you are the sole author of the content and that it is your original work;

(b) Warrant that the content is truthful, accurate, and based on your direct personal experience;

(c) Grant CourseMap a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display, modify, and distribute the content on the Platform;

(d) Acknowledge that you bear sole and full legal responsibility for the content you submit, including any liability under the Defamation Act 2005 (NSW), the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), or any other applicable law;

(e) Indemnify and hold harmless CourseMap, its operators and administrators, from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your submitted content.

4. Platform Disclaimers

(a) No warranty as to accuracy. CourseMap makes no representations or warranties as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user-submitted content. All content represents the personal opinion of the submitting user only.

(b) No affiliation with UNSW.CourseMap is an independent platform. Information about courses and teachers sourced from UNSW Global's public website is reproduced for reference only. CourseMap does not represent UNSW Global and makes no warranties regarding the accuracy or currency of institutional information.

(c) Limitation of liability.To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, CourseMap's liability to any user or third party in connection with the Platform or any content on it is limited to AUD $100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

(d) Service availability. CourseMap does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Platform. The Platform may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

The CourseMap platform design, logo, and original content created by CourseMap are protected by copyright. User-submitted reviews remain the intellectual property of the submitting user, subject to the licence granted in Section 3(c) above.

CourseMap does not claim ownership over course outlines, institutional information, or any content originating from UNSW Global or its affiliates.

6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
